Andy Willoughby comes from Eston, the old iron-stone mining area of Middlesbrough. He runs Ek Zuban publishers and ran the Hydrogen Jukebox Cabaret in Darlington. Recently appointed Middlesbrough's Poet Laureate, he is currently writer-in-residence at the University of Teesside.
