Banipal 35 presents ten talented authors who live in the Netherlands and Belgium and write in Dutch, and whose origins are in Morocco, Palestine and Iraq. All ten, explains guest editor Victor Schiferli in his introduction, are making important contributions, their “new and energetic voices” having enriched and broken “the mould of Dutch literature, taking up themes that had never before been explored”.
Featured authors include Ramsey Nasr, the new Poet Laureate of The Netherlands, and Moroccan poet Hassan Najmi.
