About Comma Poetry

back

Established in September 04, Comma Poetry is a new venture set up to repeat the success of sister publisher Comma Fiction. It aims to discover and promote the best in new British poetry, and equally to support established poets, through anthologies and single poet collections. Its first title is Helen Clare's Mollusc, published in October 2004.

Comma Poetry is not interested in carrying the flame of modernism in the poets it publishes, nor in excluding work because of the schools or traditions that inform it. Comma Poetry strives to keep in touch with the textures of contemporary experience, without denying the wide, far-reaching context that the craft of poetry always finds itself in.

Praise for Helen Clare:
“A new seam opening up in British poetry, every rift loaded with ore” – Hugo Williams
