About Egg Box Publishing
Founded in 2002 and incorporated in 2006, Egg Box's aim is to create opportunities for the nation’s best new writers. True to its name, Egg Box is predominantly a publisher and promoter of newcomers. They are interested in good, skilful writing with an edge.
Still in its infancy, the not-for-profit Egg Box Publishing has already produced its first half-dozen. This batch includes two acclaimed poetry collections (The Zoo Keeper and Come What You Wished For), both by debut writers, and both of which were highly commended by the Forward Prize.
This first batch also includes Wake, an anthology to help raise money for Habitat For Humanity. It was published in 2005 and contained writing donated by many internationally-respected literary figures. It has so far raised enough funds to build two new houses in Malawi. Egg Box’s most recent book is the widely acclaimed Donjong Heights by Ben Borek – praised by Toby Litt at TimeOut as “a truly fantastic, and wholly unexpected, London book”.
Based in Norwich, Egg Box is committed to publishing risk-taking, intelligent and entertaining poetry and, eventually, prose from new writers across the world, and to becoming one of the most innovative and influential small independent publishers in the country.
