Gillian Darley
Gillian Darley writes, lectures and broadcasts widely on architecture and landscape. She has written biographies of Octavia Hill (published in a revised edition by Francis Boutle Books in 2010), John Soane and John Evelyn - both of the latter were short-listed for the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. A revised edition of Villages of Vision is available from Five Leaves Publications. Her latest book is Vesuvius: the most famous volcano in the world in the Profile Books series, Wonders of the World, and a BBC Book of the Week. She is a regular contributor to publications including the TLS, the London Review of Books and the Architects' Journal. |
