Synopsis
Irene Rawnsley They were fed up with school. They were fed up with parents. So what did they do? These punchy poems tell their story. Suitable for ages 9-14
I heard these poems many years ago on a radio broadcast and I'd forgotten how good they are. A real voice here - and real children's voices allowed to speak through uncluttered, deceptively sparse, note-hitting poetry. Not a word wasted. I went back and read Shall We Gather At the River (her book for adults) immediately afterwards and loved that again too. Well done Irene.
