Magma Poetry: One Year Subscription by Magma Editors

A one year subscription to Magma includes three issues - Spring, Summer and Winter.

"When Magma erupted onto a dormant poetry scene," says poet John Stammers, "it changed the landscape for good; the most active new poetry and writing about poetry there is." Magma is certainly different, in changing its editor for each edition. The editorship circulates among the group that runs the magazine, with an occasional guest editor.

Each editor brings his or her particular interest to bear, resulting in poems and emphases that no-one else in the group could have predicted.

The group is united by its commitment to the best in contemporary poetry whether from new or little-known poets or the more established. We look for poems which give a direct sense of what it is to live today - honest about feelings, alert about the world, sometimes funny, always well crafted.

Magma also includes reviews of current publications and thought-provoking prose.

Reviews of Magma Poetry: One Year Subscription

A charming read of established and new writers, with a selection of humerous, abstract and very moving pieces. All works are owned by writers with passion flair and individual voices. A nice podium for novice poets to stand on and all published writers have the opportunity to read their works at a conference. Eclectic and thought provoking, a fine balance between experience and hunger.
