Moonbathing was Valerie Laws's first collection of poetry, published by Peterloo Poets in 2003. Red Squirrel is delighted to be able to make it available again.
On its original release, U.A. Fanthorpe praised it: "The poem 'I didn't want to do it' is just right - no quibbles possible. You've made me see Hadrian's Wall in a new way, and that's what poetry does."
Valerie Laws is Writer in Residence at a London Pathology Museum, part of her Wellcome Trust Arts Award funded project (with artist Susan Aldworth) working with scientists on the process of dying. She's a poet, performer, playwright for stage and BBC radio, and sci-art specialist: her Arts Council-funded Quantum Sheep infamously involved spray-painting poetry onto live sheep. She lives on the North East coast and has published seven books, including The Rotting Spot from Red Squirrel.
