Naked Punch 06 features in its essays section an original contribution by philosopher Simon Critchley on contemporary theatre based on a reading of Rosseau's play Narcisse; an extensive discussion by Michael Epstein on the philosophical schools that have emerged in Russia over the last four decades to challenge the ideocratic principles of Soviet Marxism; Michela Pittaluga's assessment of the works of famous noveau realisme artist Mimmo Rotella. In its dialogues section Naked Punch 06 offers a compelling interview with influential Marxist critic and intellectual Tariq Ali on the importance of the events in the French banlieues in November 05 and a contemporary critique of the realities in Iraq, Pakistan and Britain; an interview with philosopher Bruno Latour on Relativism, Pragmatism and Critical Theory; an interview with composer Roger Redgate on Music, Philosophy and Creativity. Further, Naked Punch 06 offers an extensive special on contemporary arabic poetry featuring the works of Adonis, Saadi Youssef and Mahmoud Darwish among others.
