About Parthian
Parthian has been publishing innovative fiction drama and poetry in Wales for ten years. Their aim is to promote new talent and bring exciting new authors to as wide an audience as possible. While they focus primarily on Welsh fiction, the image of Wales their list constructs is dynamic, contemporary, and inclusive of many different cultural groups.
Parthian is based in Cardigan/Aberteifi on the west coast of Wales, and publishes many of the younger generation of Welsh writers. An independent publisher in the best sense of the word, their standards of high quality production and writing have enabled them to develop a national profile within Wales. This profile is constantly expanding as Parthian’s titles gain greater recognition in the rest of Britain and beyond.
Many of Parthian’s authors have won countless awards, including Cynan Jones, author of The Long Dry, and Rachel Tresize, whose book Fresh Apples won the £60,000 EDS Dylan Thomas Prize.
