Picnic in the Park: A Walk around Whisby by Robinson, James Blake

There are lots of animals you can meet,
All of them searching for something to eat,
Whatever the weather, if it's light or dark,
There's always a picnic in the park.

Picnic in the Park is a full colour children's book equally inspired by Whisby and resulting from the same collaboration between Arts NK and Dream Catcher Books. Its author, James Blake Robinson, is a young local artist/illustrator and it's a wonderful publication that will make children more aware of their natural environment and the way animals relate to each other and are sensitive to their unique habitats.

Reviews of Picnic in the Park: A Walk around Whisby

I have read this wonderful book and can highly recomend it. The quality of drawing is enticing, as rich as the language. The author captures a quality that captiviates children, talking of squidgy squrmey beasties.
A joy, particularly if you live near Whisby and can actually read the book to your children whilst walking around the park.
