Andrew Fusek Peters is a poet, children's author and didjeridu player who has also been a presenter and writer for BBC 1's Wham Bam Strawberry Jam. His family fled Prague during the Russian coup of 1948. This background has greatly influenced his books, which include The Barefoot Book of Strange and Spooky Stories, May the Angels Be With Us ("More than just a collectionÖ unique" - Brian Patten), and the Weather's Getting Verse. He has done much work on Radio 4 and as a performer/writer in education. He is based in Shropshire.
Marketa Prachaticka is an award-winning artist from the Czech Republic. Her wild and beautifully drawn illustrations for Alice in Wonderland won her the prestigious Premio Grafico prize at the Bologna Children's Book Fair. She has also illustrated books by authors such as Roger McGough and Roald Dahl (including the Czech edition of James and the Giant Peach).
