I wouldn't have had to do anything if it hadn't been for Stacey. She's younger than me, better looking than I ever was, and John's only a man like any other man. Do you really think I'd let some jumped-up scrubber ruin what we had?
I don't blame John. I couldn't let Stacey take him away from me, you see. Couldn't allow it to happen. You might look on it as a mercy killing. She'd have made his life a misery and I had to stop that happening. I had to save him from himself. He didn't feel anything. I made it look like natural causes.
He'll never leave me now. She can't ever get him. We'll always be happy together, the way we always were. I go to his grave every day, make sure he's the smartest looking of the lot. Let everyone know, he's mine and nobody else's.
The only problem is, Stacey's been causing trouble. You know, spreading rumours. She even had the cheek to phone me up, telling me there were things she needed to discuss. Telling me! He was my husband, what right has she got?
What if they send me away to some place? They'd never understand what love really means. She'd be the one putting flowers on his grave and there's no way I'm going to stand for that.
She's due here any time now. She won't feel a thing, won't realise until it's too late. I know how to make it look like natural causes.
