Synopsis
In November 1647 Generals Fairfax and Cromwell called a rendezvous of the New Model Army at Ware in Hertfordshire. It quickly turned into a confrontation between the 'grandee' officers and the Levellers and resulted in the execution of one agitator. Dr. Alan Thomson of the University of Hertfordshire has examined all the evidence - including some fresh sources - to answer the question: was the Ware Mutiny order restored or revolution defeated?
This book reads well, with a number of good pictures. Unlike some history books which can become dull, this one can be of interest to the average reader. Well worth the price! Anybody reading English for that period in school or collage could do no better than reading this book as a good background and feel of the times.
