Lewis Davies
Lewis Davies (1967-) was born in Penrhiwtyn in south Wales. He lived and worked in the area before establishing the publishing house Parthian in 1993. He came to prominence as a writer with the publication of his best-selling first novel, Work, Sex and Rugby in 1993. Since then, he has produced a variety of work, from the murder mystery, Tree of Crows (1996), to the history of Route 66 in the US, Freeways (1997), which won the John Morgan Award, and [i]My Piece of Happiness[/b] (2001), a novel about caring for the disabled. He also writes for theatre, and his new play, Football, will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2004. Source: Wales Arts International |
