UK Literary translation organisations
UK Translators Association
The Translators Association provides general and individual advice to members on a range of issues, as well as producing model contracts and other reference documents. The TA also runs a number of translation awards and prizes for published books (see below).
The British Centre for Literary Translation BCLT was founded in 1989 by the late W G 'Max' Sebald, and is based at the University of East Anglia. The Centre works to raise the profile of literary translation in the UK through an imaginative and varied programme of events, activities, publications, and research.

The UK Translators Association Awards
The Translators Association administers prizes for published translations from Dutch, French, Italian, German, Greek (modern), Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.
The Corneliu M Popescu Prize for European Poetry Translation
This prize, awarded every two years, is open to collections of published poetry which feature poetry translated from a European language into English.
For previously unpublished work:
The Stephen Spender Memorial Award An annual prize run by The Times and the Stephen Spender Memorial Trust. Winning poems are published in The Times newspaper.
The John Dryden Translation Competition
This competition, sponsored jointly by the British Comparative Literature Association and the British Centre for Literary Translation (University of East Anglia), awards prizes for the best unpublished literary translations from any language into English.

In Other Words
Published by the British Centre for Literary Translation with the support of the Translators Association (Society of Authors), In Other Words is the journal for Literary Translators and anyone interested in good writing and the creative process.

This magazine, published by Edinburgh University Press is a journal for all those concerned with translation, in all its forms, as a literary phenomenon.
