Northway Books aims to publish good books about jazz, focusing on the history and development of the music and its context. As an example of this social context: two of our existing books and one forthcoming book are about musicians from the Caribbean and their experiences living in the UK.

Northway began operations in 2000 and, concentrating mainly but not exclusively on British jazz, we have been able to publish books which would not be considered commercially viable by larger publishers.

We have one exception to the focus on jazz: a document of social history in the form of an exceptionally honest account by an air gunner from World War Two.
