Details

Sean Elliott grew up in West Country towns, and was encouraged to write at Oxford by Peter Levi. His doctoral thesis was on the poet Robert Lowell. This is his first full collection. His poems, though appearing autobiographical, have a much wider context. The title poem reveals that, like Prospero from The Tempest, he has a magic wand which transforms his experiences into poetry of a deeper vein in which readers can find their own life experiences detailed and shown with a tender and sympathetic vividness. These accessible poems will with-stand many readings and interpretations.
