Synopsis

Writing Poems by Peter Sansom

Drawing on his long experience of workshops and courses, Peter Sansom shows you not how to write but how to write better. This practical guide is illustrated with many examples.

"I would recommend the book to any student, even more to creative writing tutors. It's funny, honest, thoughtful, realistic."
Gillian Allnutt, Northern Echo

Peter Sansom is one our best contemporary poets. His publications include On the Pennine Way (Littlewood, 1988) and Everything You've Heard is True (Carcanet, 1990), a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. He has held several placements in schools and colleges and has also worked extensively with teachers. For three years, he was writer-in-residence at Doncaster Central Library. He is a director of The Poetry Business in Huddersfield, and co-editor of The North Magazine and Smith/Doorstop Books.
